Service Transition (Test Automation)

It is the facilitation of the transition from EPIC to the transfer of a given process to operational activity.

In terms of ITIL v3, Service Transition is the stage of move between the Service Design and  Operation. In Arla, there is a department with the same name, which perfectly reflects the idea of its functioning – it is the facilitation of the transition from EPIC to the transfer of a given process to operational activity.

The main goal of this department is to ensure stable implementation of IT processes through e.g. standardized and agile work methods, providing the right environment to share knowledge throughout the organization, as well as testing software changes before they see “the light of the day”.

Test Automation

Test Automation team, which is part of the Service Transition structure, currently has 4 team members (including manager) realizing an ambitious strategy of moving from manual tests to fast and reliable automated software regression tests. As a result, as an organization we can release subsequent software changes to operations much faster.

The TestRail tool, also used in organizations such as Microsoft, Intel, HP or Amazon, helps us to manage test cases, track and coordinate the entire testing process. Tosca is the second important tool in the work of the Test Automation team, thanks to which we automate test cases. We write test scripts e.g. in C # and .NET.
